Integrative nutrition is the belief that health is affected by all facets of life, including spirituality, relationships, lifestyle, the way you eat, what you eat, and much more. I practice a holistic approach to nutrition and health, for a whole living approach to life. You may find that your work or relationships are affecting your food choices. Maybe lack of sleep or low energy affect your ability to exercise. I can help you identify which facets of your life may be wanting for more attention and help you break down goals to find more balance in your life.
Life happens and our needs are constantly changing. The best thing we can do is equip ourselves with knowledge and self-awareness to make the best decisions in any given circumstance. The latest magazine article or fad diet book is not necessarily going to empower you to make the most well-informed decisions in your self-care. Everyone’s needs are different, and having a strong foundation will help you be your best self.
We can define what you value most from your well-being and use these visions to identify specific goals which will bring you closer to where you want to be. As your coach, I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically utilize that information. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable steps so you will know exactly what you’re working toward and see consistent, measurable progress.
IIN’s Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce whenever accessible. It also includes whole grains, high-quality proteins, healthy fats, and water. It emphasizes a plate’s portions in relation to each food group. The plate is also surrounded with lifestyle factors which support optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I can help you explore some of the healthiest foods and lifestyles on the planet and teach you to seek out what is healthiest for your unique needs.
It’s important to recognize that not just the food we eat affects our health. Healthy relationships, a sense of fulfillment, regular physical activity, and spirituality are all essential forms of nourishment. When these primary foods are balanced, you’ll find that what you eat becomes secondary. Greater health comes from living an inspired, fulfilling life.
Bio-individuality is the concept that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. We have all heard it said that “one person’s food is another person’s poison.” This is why fad diets tend to fail in the long run, often causing more trouble in their wake. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.
Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different– by eating and drinking foods which are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, when you crowd in more nutritionally rewarding foods, you will unconsciously crowd out the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice and perseverance to make it a habit, but I will support you along the way.
Deciphering cravings can also play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to interpret your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of self control, balance, and harmony.
